General Compute, एक नई inference neocloud company, ने $15 million seed round $60 million post-money valuation पर जुटाया है। Round को FUSE VC ने lead किया, जिसमें Carya Venture Partners और Village Global Ventures ने हिस्सा लिया। Company ने 28 मई 2026 को announce किया कि वह SambaNova के SN50 chips deploy करने वाली पहली neocloud होगी।
SN50 Chips — GPU से तेज़
General Compute के पास SambaNova के SN50 chips की $300 million की order book है। ये chips inference के लिए design हुए हैं और GPUs से बेहतर performance देते हैं। CEO Finn Puklowski के मुताबिक SN50 chips 600-700 tokens per second generate करते हैं, जबकि GPUs सिर्फ 250 tokens per second देते हैं।
दूसरा बड़ा फायदा यह है कि SN50 chips air-cooled हैं, water-cooled नहीं। ये कम power consume करते हैं और मौजूदा data center facilities में बिना नए infrastructure investment के install हो सकते हैं। यह AI compute cost economics को बदल सकता है।
Inference Market क्यों Hot है?
Nvidia ने December में $20 अरब में Groq को acquire किया था और Cerebras ने पिछले हफ्ते $57 अरब का IPO किया — दोनों inference-first chip companies हैं। General Compute अब SambaNova के साथ इसी race में आ गया है। Crypto miners के साथ colocation deals भी company की strategy का हिस्सा हैं।
India Connection
India के लिए inference neocloud trend खास relevance रखता है। NVIDIA-Reliance AI Data Centre डील के साथ भारत भी 2,000 MW AI data center capacity build कर रहा है। General Compute जैसे players का rise दिखाता है कि inference economics पर ज़ोर बढ़ रहा है।
