Chartered Accountancy की दुनिया में एक बड़ा बदलाव होने जा रहा है। Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) ने CA curriculum में Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Analytics, ESG और Sustainability को embed करने का फ़ैसला किया है। ICAI के पास इस समय 5 लाख से ज़्यादा members हैं और लाखों students CA programme कर रहे हैं — इस बदलाव का असर पूरे accounting profession पर पड़ेगा।
ICAI President का बयान
ICAI President Prasanna Kumar D ने 17 May 2026 को PTI को दिए interview में कहा कि technology अब accounting का अनिवार्य हिस्सा बन गई है। उनके शब्दों में, “For an engineer, AI is a separate subject but for us, AI is not a subject but without AI, no chartered accountant can survive.” यानी CA professionals के लिए AI अब optional नहीं रह गया है।
Committee for Review of Education and Training (CRET)
ICAI ने एक नई Committee for Review of Education and Training (CRET) गठित की है जो चार areas पर काम करेगी — CA curriculum, practical training (articleship), soft skills & communication और assessment (examinations)। यह committee December 2026 तक अपनी recommendations finalize करेगी और उसके बाद public exposure के लिए जारी की जाएँगी। updated CA curriculum 2028 से लागू होने की उम्मीद है।
क्यों ज़रूरी है यह बदलाव?
पिछले कुछ सालों में accounting profession बहुत बदला है — non-financial reporting, ESG disclosures, AI-driven audits, data analytics और forensic auditing अब routine काम बन गए हैं। फ़िलहाल AI, ESG, sustainability और data analytics CA curriculum का हिस्सा नहीं हैं, जबकि industry में इनकी demand तेज़ी से बढ़ रही है। Microsoft AI चीफ़ Mustafa Suleyman ने हाल ही में accounting को AI से सबसे ज़्यादा impact होने वाले sectors में गिनाया है, इसलिए ICAI का यह कदम timing के हिसाब से भी critical है।
Students के लिए मायने
2028 batch के बाद CA बनने वाले students को traditional balance sheet और audit के साथ-साथ data analytics tools (Python, Power BI, SQL), AI fundamentals, machine learning basics और ESG reporting frameworks भी सीखने होंगे। ICAI ने 2023 में New Scheme of Education and Training launch किया था, और CRET की recommendations उसी के अगले phase की तरह काम करेंगी। CA aspirants को अभी से AI और data analytics के foundation courses पर ध्यान देना शुरू कर देना चाहिए।
